Research tells us that over half of students in the United States experience learning loss over the summer. Don’t let this happen to your child!
Help your child avoid this summer slide and develop stronger academic skills over the summer with EBL Coaching’s two-week small group academic summer programs.
In EBL’s Summer Skills Building Program, students entering grades 1-6 will learn research-based strategies to build stronger reading, spelling, writing, and math word problem solving skills. With reading comprehension, they will learn to identify the topic, main idea, and important details when reading and highlight these elements using blue, green, and yellow highlighters. They will also learn to summarize information, make inferences, and come up with predictions. With writing, they will learn how to write well-constructed sentences, simple paragraphs, extended paragraphs, and five-paragraph essays, and they will learn to brainstorm, write, and self-check their thoughts when writing. They will also learn how to decode words more accurately, read with improved fluency, and break down math word problems, moving from language to arithmetic and back to language. Sessions meet M-F from 9 am-12 pm daily at their Upper East Side location.
Camp dates: August 4-15 and August 18-29
For EBL’s Summer Strategy Building Program, students entering grades 7–12 will learn research-based strategies for building stronger executive functioning skills, including techniques for time management, note taking, organization, and task initiation, and will also develop stronger reading comprehension and writing skills. These skills become increasingly important as students progress through school. Sessions meet M-F from 1-4pm daily at our Upper East Side location.
EBL’s sessions are held at the end of the summer, from August 4-15 and August 8-29, helping your child jump-start the school year on a positive note. Learn more at https://eblcoaching.com/summer-programs/.
